Care Seekers want to know that their loved one will be safe while in your care. That is why all Health Care Workers who can accept jobs on WeBookCare pass an enhanced criminal record check.

Certn is a third-party background check company that provides enhanced criminal record checks for Health Care Workers. The specific information that Certn verifies in the enhanced criminal record check can vary based on the requirements of the job or the jurisdiction in which the Health Care Worker is seeking jobs.

However, generally speaking, an enhanced criminal record check for Health Care Workers may include the following types of checks:

1. National Criminal Record Check: Certn may conduct a check of national criminal databases to search for any criminal records that the Health Care Worker may have.

2. County Criminal Record Check: Certn may search county-level criminal records in the jurisdictions where the Health Care Worker has lived or worked.

3. Sex Offender Registry Check: Certn may check the national sex offender registry to determine if the Health Care Worker is listed on it.

These background checks are also available: 

1. Professional License Verification: Certn may verify the Health Care Worker's professional license and confirm that it is valid and in good standing.

To use our third-party screening provider— you should:

• Have a credit history in Canada of at least 6 months

• Have lived in Canada for at least two years and have a current Canadian address

• Answer a set of security questions unique to your personal credit history correctly

• If you are unsuccessful, your identity can be verified on-site or by live real-time identification.

Before you get started, have the following information ready:

• Current full legal name including middle name

• A primary and secondary id

Complete the enhanced criminal record check

To accept a job on the WeBookCare app, you will get asked and are required to complete the enhanced criminal record check. To begin your enhanced criminal record check, select Get Verified directly in your Profile.

Next steps

After you submit your request for an enhanced criminal record check, you'll be redirected to complete the background check. If you pass, you’ll earn a Verified badge for your WeBookCare profile and you can automatically accept jobs as long as you meet the job prerequisites. This Badge shows potential Care Seekers your commitment to earning their trust.
